Railway Mystery
The Passenger Without a Ticket
A conductor repeatedly encountered the same silent passenger, yet no other person on the train could remember seeing him.
For four consecutive nights, conductor Peter Vale saw a man in the same corner seat.
The passenger never spoke.
He carried no ticket.
When challenged, he simply pointed towards the window.
Each time Vale looked outside, the man disappeared.
Cryer travelled with him on the fifth night.
At exactly 10:06, the passenger appeared.
Cryer approached.
The man pointed.
Outside stood an abandoned signal box.
Inside it, they later found an old photograph of a railway worker.
The silent passenger was in the picture.
The photograph was dated 1888.
