The Clockmaker's Secret

A respected clockmaker was found dead at his bench, surrounded by clocks that had all been deliberately set to different times.

Walter Grier was found dead in his workshop.

Every clock around him showed a different time.

Cryer ignored them.

The clockmaker's hands were stained with metal polish, except for one clean finger.

That finger had pressed the hidden release on a drawer.

Inside were letters proving that Grier had been blackmailing his assistant.

The assistant had poisoned his evening tea.

The clocks had been altered to confuse the estimated time of death.

Instead, they revealed the killer's desperation.
